How do I Start Blogging Now?

Posted By: vie on September 21, 2009 at 10:38 am

It is interesting to learn blogging from the successful bloggers who make money from blogging.  If you are a newbie blogger and you are  not sure what you should blog about except for your personal life, you shall learn blogging guide from the experts such as John Yeo, the author of   Blogger’s Paycheck. Please take a look at 3 simplest ways to start blogging outlined by John Yeo to  answer your questions: How do I Start Blogging Now?

This is the question that many people ask every day, especially after seeing the tons of blogs out there on the internet that are successful, interesting, rank highly on the search engines and that are making a ton of money from doing it. Blogging started out as a way to speak out, to express yourself and was simply a tool to use for personal benefits. It is almost like a diary for many people. There are also those people that have taken blogging to the next level and actually use their personal stories, ideas, passions and writing skills to make money for themselves.

So how can you do the same?

Here are 3 simplest ways any one can start blogging, even if he has no blog at all.

1. Credibility – Well, you should get a guide written by a successful blogger. In short, you should learn from those who walk the talk. The ebook by these successful bloggers will gives you accurate information about how to start blogging and how to set up your blog successfully, and it will also list step by step instructions for everything you need to do to make it work for you and make a lot of money from it. Because a successful blogger, being successful, will know the amount of help a newbie blogger will need to start blogging.

2. Simplicity – The blogging guide will need to be realistic and useful with no complicated wording or difficult to understand jargon and technicalities. It has to be straight forward and very easy to follow and all of this will help you to make money in a very short space of time. So many people scour the internet for various money making schemes and quick fix options, when you can just make money from writing a blog about something you love. It can even be about you and as long as you market it correctly and as long as you keep it interesting and fresh, you will soon attract a large database of people who will therefore attract advertisers to your website.

3. Accessibility – This is only the start of it and as you can imagine there are hundreds of models and options that you can use to get people to access and advertise on your website, as well as being able to be found on various other people’s websites through links. Now, instead of just telling you what I have just told you, a good blogging guide author should go into detail about each aspect and tell you the exact websites you will need to go to for the maximum advantage. I feel a sensitive author will spend all the time finding the best ones and weeding out the bad ones to give you a couple of the top websites that will work for you when you start blogging.

So if you are still asking, “how do I start blogging” then you know that the best thing to do is to get a credible and simple blogging guide and you can get started right away without ever worrying about it not working. If you follow the methods as explained it will definitely answer your question on “how do I start blogging”.

Posted By: vie on August 9, 2009 at 9:46 pm

Yesterday was the end of first month since  I learn to blog and I learn Internet Business.   Yes, I’m like one month old baby in the Internet Marketing. So, I’m evaluating how my blog “Resources for Moms and Kids” has progressed so far.

  • Pages and Posts: I created 3 pages and wrote 22 posts in one month. I have never written so intensely before.
  • My Blog Rank: My blog is ranked no. 2 of 26 mio over in Google Organic Search Results  and no. 1 of 20 mio over in Yahoo Organic Seach Results by using keywords “Resources for Moms and Kids” after one month listing, based on the results dated on 9th August 2009.

  • Comments, Trackbacks & Pingbacks: I received 6 comments (exclude my reply comments) and 4 trackbacks and pingbacks. The comments, trackbacks and pingbacks are mostly from unknown visitors. I only installed counter of visitors lately so I couldn’t tell the number of visitors to my blog.
  • Revenue: I made $10.80 at the end of first month from links and google advertising. $6.5 is already paid to my account. I know it is still a small amount.

I sincerely thank to all readers of  my blog, visitors who made comments, my fellow mom blogger Taty for her support to my new blog and to the person who walks with me through my journey, Mompreneur Internet Marketing Hub.

WordPress, the Best Blogging Solution for My Blog.

Posted By: vie on August 3, 2009 at 5:56 pm

When I started blogging, I used free hosting and user-friendly Blogspot. But they have  limitations. There’re 2 columns only. I couldn’t create sub-categories and more pages. When I decided to market my blog, I learn to blog the right way and took up Internet Business Coaching.  I came to know that WordPress is the best solution for a blog website. WordPress software comes FREE because it is an open source project so people are free to use it. They always upgrade their version. Here’s the excerpt from WordPress: “WorPress is state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.”

Please don’t confuse that there are WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

WordPress.com: If you use free hosting for your blog, you can get it from WordPress.com.  Your domain will carry their name too, http://yourdomain.wordpress.com. Using free WordPress-based blog from WordPress.com is less flexible than if you install and host the blog by using a paid web hosting.

WordPress.org: If you choose to host the blog by using a paid web hosting, you use software from WordPress.org and you can have your own domain name, http://yourdomain.com or http://www.yourdomain.com.  It is advisable to choose a web hosting company that provides you with script installer such as Fantastico to install open source software with just a click in their control panel. Otherwise, you have to figure out how to install the software into your domain name by following the guide from WorPress. My Business Class Web Hosting is one of the web hosting company that provides Fantastico installer in their control panel to install open source software to my domain name with just a click. I chose Business Class Web Hosting because they provide unlimited disk space for my blog and host multiple domains and sub domains. They always have the latest version of the open source software and the choices are plenty, not just WordPress. Upon installation, I can customize my blog and have the complete control of themes, plugins and widgets. Now, I see unlimited possibilities building my blog using WordPress.org.

Is it easy to build a website with open source project software like WordPress? I say “NO” though documentation is provided by WordPress. I can ask a help from my web hosting provider but they offer limited support because the software is from the third party. So, where can I get a help? I get a help from Internet Business Coaching, because they have expertise and knew exactly how to build a blog website using WordPress. I would prefer to take an online course than offline course. Online course is much cheaper than offline course because all materials are delivered via internet and there is continuity. They guided me everything about building a blog using WordPress. I can ask questions by email if I don’t understand how to make it work. It accelerates my learning and I couldn’t believe myself that my blog layout was ready within one week.

Domain or Sub domain  – You can install a blog within your domain, it is called sub domain. I have an online store, http://www.kidzpuzzle.com and my blog for kidzpuzzle is located at http://blog.kidzpuzzle.com. The advantage is I don’t need to register for a new domain and it means free (no additional charge). My Business Class Web Hosting provides hosting of multiple domains but additional domain name has to be registered and it cost $7.95 yearly per domain for .com.

People Blog for a Reason

Posted By: vie on August 3, 2009 at 5:12 pm

People blog for different reasons: fun, passion, provide information, monetize their blog or for journal of their personal life. Oh Yes, some even say that blogging can de-stress their life, I read that from mom bloggers. Stay at home moms, full-time working moms and work at home moms are all into blogging. I must say I enjoy reading mom blogs. I’m learning from them and they’re inspiring.

When I started blogging, I had a reason, to provide information for my online store, Kidzpuzzle. The idea to build another blog came up when I took up Internet Business Coaching Program.  The topic of my new blog is to provide resources for moms and resources for kids and I had to find the name.  Voila, “Resources for Moms and Kids” just fitted to my chosen topic and I had to find the right theme and tagline to go along with the topic. Why do I take Internet Business Coaching Program to build a blog? Because I want to blog for profit, to market and to monetize my blog. I’m not only learning to blog but learn the correct techniques of marketing my business blogs.  Besides, I’m having fun to source all information and  e-products that benefit not only me and my kids but also other moms and their kids.  Internet Business can be a home business, you can start small and do it from home.

Blogging Tips for Start-Up:

  • Topic – Think and choose what you will blog about. It can be your passion, your hobby, what you are good at. It is important that you are happy and having fun what you’re blogging about
  • Theme – Choose the right theme to reflect the topic of your blog. Visit Free WordPress Blog Themes  to find the right one for you. You will be amazed but find it hard to choose over 6 millions themes. Take your time.
  • Title, Subtitle and Tagline – You have the right theme but picture alone will not speak out. You need to have a title and subtitle on the header of your blog. If you have the short but powerful title, your subtitle has to convey your strong message. These are like tagline for your blog.
