Halloween is so popular and celebrated in western countries and the popularity spreads to Asian countries as well.  Well, I only know that  Halloween is about ghost festival and here is the truth about Halloween from  Halloweenhistory.org:

Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain. The festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture. Samhain was a time used by the ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and prepare for winter. The ancient Gaels believed that on October 31, the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead overlapped and the deceased would come back to life and cause havoc such as sickness or damaged crops

Kids like Halloween because it is scarry and fun at the same time.  Above is the picture of my kid  in Halloween mask.  She made it at school to celebrate Halloween with her friends and teachers last Friday. Happy Halloween everyone ! Yes, Halloween is actually a happy festival to welcome the end of harvest season.
