How to Create a Favorite Icon for Wordpress Blog

You may notice that some websites have a little eye-catching icon before the URL. That’s called Favorite Icon or Favicon. I use it for my Wordpress blog. You can get it too from MaxBlogPress Favicon. Please note that this plugin is only for Worpress blog, self-hosted blog. I’ll share 7 simple steps to create a favorite icon for Wordpress blog by using MaxBlogPress Favicon. Here are the installation steps:

Download the file from MaxBlogPress Favicon into your computer

Open the Wordpress Plugins, choose “add New”

Upload the file and click “install”

You will see the MBP favicon is among the installed plugin, click “activate”
- Once your MBP favicon activated, open Wordpress Settings, you will see MBP favicon there. You will be asked for registration through email confirmation.

When I started blogging, I used free hosting and user-friendly Blogspot. But they have limitations. There’re 2 columns only. I couldn’t create sub-categories and more pages. When I decided to market my blog, I learn to blog the right way and took up Internet Business Coaching. I came to know that WordPress is the best solution for a blog website. WordPress software comes FREE because it is an open source project so people are free to use it. They always upgrade their version. Please don’t confuse that there are WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

WordPress.org: If you choose to host the blog by using a paid web hosting, you use software from WordPress.org and you can have your own domain name, http://yourdomain.com or http://www.yourdomain.com. It is advisable to choose a web hosting company that provides you with script installer such as Fantastico to install open source software with just a click in their control panel. People Blog for a Reason

People blog for different reasons: fun, passion, provide information, monetize their blog or for journal of their personal life. Oh Yes, some even say that blogging can de-stress their life, I read that from mom bloggers. Stay at home moms, full-time working moms and work at home moms are all into blogging. I must say I enjoy reading mom blogs. I’m learning from them and they’re inspiring.
When I started blogging, I had a reason, to provide information for my online store, Kidzpuzzle. The idea to build another blog came up when I took up Internet Business Coaching Program. The topic of my new blog is to provide resources for moms and resources for kids and I had to find the name. Voila, “Resources for Moms and Kids” just fitted to my chosen topic and I had to find the right theme and tagline to go along with the topic. Why do I take Internet Business Coaching Program to build a blog? Because I want to blog for profit, to market and to monetize my blog. I’m not only learning to blog but learn the correct techniques of marketing my business blogs. Besides, I’m having fun to source all information and e-products that benefit not only me and my kids but also other moms and their kids. - Topic – Think and choose what you will blog about. It can be your passion, your hobby, what you are good at. It is important that you are happy and having fun what you’re blogging about

- Title, Subtitle and Tagline – You have the right theme but picture alone will not speak out. You need to have a title and subtitle on the header of your blog. If you have the short but powerful title, your subtitle has to convey your strong message. These are like tagline for your blog.
Blogging It Right

I had 3 blogs set up using Blogspot previously. Each blog was created for different reasons. Kidzpuzzle blog has all product reviews of my online store, Kidzpuzzle. Enrich Learning blog is to support my Facebook group. Vie-my story is my personal blog. When I first joined Mompreneur Internet Marketing Hub, I just realize that my previous blogs look amateur to me. I followed what other bloggers did and unfortunately, I followed the wrong crowd.
By taking up a coaching at Mompreneur Internet Marketing Hub, it changed my attitude toward blogging and I’m learning to blog again in the right way. I need to focus on certain topic in my blog and treat my blog as a serious business. So, I set up a blog using WordPress. I chose a topic that is close to my heart, moms and kids. The blog Resources For Moms And Kids is about sharing of my journey as a learning mama. I am not selfish anymore, talking about myself and family though I still relate my experiences in certain topics and I hope that my new blog will benefit moms and their kids.
My previous blogs look like this. I’m actually ashamed to show you but I show you anyhow. So, you may learn a lesson from me.
