To nurture positive beliefs in kids,  it has to start from parents.  Do you know that our belief will determine our behaviors. Parents,  if you have  a positive belief, you will impart this belief to your kids because you interact with your kids everyday. Here are the examples of 2 different parents:

Parent A believes what others think of her does matter. If others think that she is good, it will make her feel good. She tries her best to please people and not to make mistakes and failures. Mistakes and failures are bad.

Parent B believes that he is good and what his friends said about him doesn’t matter. It is okay to make mistakes and failures because he learns from mistakes and failures.

Parent B has positive belief in himself and he will teach his kids that they must believe that they are good enough and important.  Here are  positive parenting tips to nurture positive belief in kids:

  • Tell them they are good enough and they are important. Don’t care what others think about them.
  • Listen to what kids say because what kids say is important. Encourage kids to speak out.
  • Give them undivided attention. If you are busy, ask them to wait until you finished your work and spare your time to give undivided attention to your kids.
  • Making mistakes is okay. Guide the kids to learn from mistakes and failures.

Positive belief will influence their behaviors and lead them to be successful in life.  With positive belief, they will build a better relationship with other kids and they will be happy  and proud of what they are doing. With positive belief, they have freedom to speak their mind.

Negative things attracts negativity and positive things attracts positivity.

Reduce negative words to avoid hard behaviours from your kids.  Instead, use positive words and encouragement to redirect them to set their goal and to experience what it is like to reach a success.
