Kids are normally forthcoming with regards to sharing feelings and emotions. Children could actually be participating in a program without actually realizing it. Anger management is a hard concept to explain to small children. Considering they’re unaware of their exact feelings and they are not equipped to think quickly and rationalize their decisions, it would be very hard to teach a kid an effective lesson plan which requires logical thinking.

Anger management for kids is essential. A child needs to learn how to behave appropriately to different situations. The must know that it is perfectly find to be upset but they must also understand that this anger should not be used in a negative way.

There are several different ways you need to prepare your child for school, including mentally, emotionally, and physically. Whatever the age, there are certain physical things that you need to get ready for them to begin school. If your kids have spent the summer with long nights and late mornings. Now that school is almost here, it’s time to move back to an earlier schedule. If you have older children, this might be more difficult as you have less control over their schedule. But for younger ones, get started about three weeks before school starts by moving their sleep time up by ½ hour, and their wake up time up by ½ hour. Then the following week, move it up again. Continue this until your child is sleeping and waking during the same hours they will be when school starts.

Since summer is winding down, it might be time to wind your kids down and start their minds working again in preparation for school. A few weeks before school starts, crack out the reading books and paper and pencil. Spend 30 minutes during the day working on reading or writing.

Physically preparing your children for school involves getting them the things that they need for school. If you like to shop for school clothes in the summer, start this about one month before school starts to get in on the sales. Retail outlets usually start their summer sales around this time. Watch the ads and sales for the best time to go. If your school likes you to bring school supplies, watch for these sales too. Again, shop early to ensure the best prices and best selection. Getting your kids ready for school can be a challenge but it will make the transition back to school easier.

Praising a child correctly is important to the development of positive behaviors. It’s a great way to encourage constructive future behavior. When you give praise you are giving your child a feeling of positive feedback, which increases their sense of confidence, self esteem and abilities. When you praise your child, you are pointing out the way they’ve acted, an action they’ve taken, or simply who they are. When your child looks good, tell him so. When your child does anything that pleases you, let him know. You should also praise a child’s effort to do well, even if it doesn’t come out so good in the end. You should find something each day about your child to praise.

Be on the lookout constantly for behaviors or actions deserving of praise, but don’t be over the top about it. Be sincere and honest in your praise. Wait for unexpected or previously unnoticed good behavior and praise your child for it. And when you see such action or behaviors, praise immediately so the child will know exactly what behavior or action was deemed praiseworthy. It’s also very important to look your child square in the eye when you praise him, and reinforce the positive behavior, action or trait being praised with a gesture such as a warm smile, a hug, scruff of the hair, or caress his face while you tell him.
Be exact, and state precisely what action, behavior or trait you find praiseworthy. And most importantly, never directly follow praise with criticism or negative comments. Let your child know what they did right and reward them for it before you let them know what they did wrong and punish for misbehaving or a misdeed.
So be sure to admire and congratulate your child and celebrate the good person they are growing into by praising their positive actions, behaviors and traits daily. You’ll be building a strong sense of self in your child and you’ll grow closer as a result.

“One of the greatest gift we can give a child is a strong belief of who she is – and that belief comes from what you put into her” – Michelle Borba

Get 1-800-flowers for your number one performer.

We, parents try to give the best for our kids and parenting kids today is not easy. Sometimes we are super protective or super worried about our kids. The world is getting competitive and we push our kids to be super kids. Let’s take a look at some controversial or alarming parenting trends.

1. Kids study or learn as much as adults work in 8 hours a day.

Kids spend their time to study as much as 8 working hours starting from primary school. After school is over, kids take extra tuition or enrichment class and still do their homework. Parents push kids to excel in academic performance and kids have to endure long hours for learning or studying.

2. Parents encourage kids for electronic gadgets.

I’m not objected to e-gadgets but e-gadgets have EMF radiation which is silent killer for human being. Long exposure may not be good for young children. Limit time for TV and computer.

3. Parents encourage kids to be a superstar from early age

Kids are encouraged to learn early these days. There are programs that offer play and learn for baby, music program for babies, reading program for toddlers, dance class or sport for preschoolers.

4. Stressed parents throw anger to their kids

Pressure from work and expectation to see kids to do well or to behave well, parents unintentionally utter X words to their kids or resort to spanking. Kids watch and kids may do these actions to their peers or younger sibling.

5. Parents prepare education fund for kids early.

Save early for your child’s education fund is not wrong. I see some parents start to set up education fund from the day the child is born.

6. Parents encourage Facebook for kids.

Some parents do set up facebook account for their kids early and manipulate the year of the birth. One thing that you must know is account setting and privacy setting. Some parents do not know how to safeguard their facebook account and they expose their kids to danger too by setting up a facebook account for them.

7. Internet addicted parents neglect kids.

There were reports that parents socialized and chatted in the internet until they neglected their kids.

What is the most difficult job in the world? Parenting is the hardest job in the world but it is the most rewarding job as well.

Parenting is like a learning journey for lifetime. None is really prepared to become parents until they have kids of their own. What is your belief about parenting? Do you think that parenting is easy or parenting is difficult?

Your belief in parenting is influenced by sub-conscious mind and it will dictate how you feel and react to situations. If you feel frustrated in dealing with the child and this negative feeling influences your belief that parenting is difficult. Would you change this negative belief into a positive belief? You recognize that parenting could be the most challenging job. If you don’t want to walk away from being a parent, you will accept the challenges. Turn something negative into positive. Embrace positive thoughts and empower yourself with a new belief that parenting is a rewarding job and it is a commitment to your family. When you raise your kids well, that’s the reward! I felt shocked watching this video. Maybe, we never really think that kids are watching us everyday. Kids see and kids do what we did.

Before it is too late, let’s be a better parent and the world will be a better place if we raise good kids who turn to be well-behaved, kind and caring adults. Enjoy parenting!

Holiday should be fun for all family. When you’re travelling with young kids, please select travel destinations that kids like. You can involve kids for their opinion. Here are some parenting tips for selecting travel destinations with kids in mind.

Go Shopping. I know that some parents like to go shopping during their holiday. Some kids may just sit or stand nearby you and wait for you while you browse the merchandises during shopping. Some kids will not be patient and throw tantrum during shopping. My suggestion is parents take a turn while shopping. One parent can take kids to kids rides within the shopping complex or wait at the kids friendly restaurant.

Going to Museum. I must say that my hubby likes history and art. Going to visit Museum could be a boring activity for kids especially if you can read the facts that interest you and kids don’t read. They wonder why they visit the museum. If you visit the museum, while you read the information, please share the information in plain words and engage them with Qs & As. Kids will pay attention and find the old artifacts interesting. It will be a learning experience for kids to learn history by visiting the museum. If it is possible, join the guided tour.

Amusement Parks. Most Kids like amusement parks. But some kids are afraid of height and speed. You can’t force kids to go for these rides if they are afraid of riding them. At Water parks, kids do like play water. But young kids mayn’t be comfortable to see wave pool or a giant bucket of water that shower people under it.

Zoo or Animal Parks. Animals always fascinate young kids. Kids mostly don’t like snakes and reptiles/crocodiles and they want to stay away from them. Petting zoo may be a good experience for kids because they can get close, touch and observe the animals.

National Parks. National parks with outdoor activities suit for people of all ages.

Visit to Natural Attractions. Kids like the beach mostly. Visit to mountain, cave or waterfall will be fine for young kids if you don’t do rigorous activities like climbing up and down.

Try to balance and mix the activites during the holiday. You don’t want to hop from one amusement park to another or spend one day for shopping that might bore your kids. Holiday should be enjoyed by all family member. Select your travel destinations wisely.

Traveling abroad is a great learning experience for kids and parents. Safety is the number one priority when you’re traveling with young kids especially you will be in a new country . I’m sure you will be excited to explore the sight and the sound of a new country. Here are tips to keep your family safe and to ensure everyone has a great holiday time:

1. Note down all emergency information and contacts including the embassy or you save them in your cell phone. The information shall be distributed among adults and older kids. Younger kids should have a bracelet or a necklace of name tags with the information such as phone and address or they have your name card in their bags.

2 . Bring copies of everyone’s passport ID page. Carry one copy with you in a separate place from your passport, and leave the second copy with a trusted friend or relatives back home. Parents should carry additional copies of children’s passports.

3. Read, understand, and follow all travel warnings issued for the area you are visiting. Do not travel to unsafe areas.

4. Always bring the most current photos of your children with you just in case they’re missing and you need to make a report.

5. Leave a copy of your travel plan with relatives or friends at home. Include hotel name and phone number. Have your children carry a copy of travel plan, hotel name and contact in their bag so they know which hotel you stay.

6. Learn local laws and customs before you leave for your trip. Be sure your children understand them as well.

7. In airports, bus stop and train stations, never leave your luggage unattended. Instruct your children not to touch other people’s luggage, or pick anything up from the floor.

8. Do not wear expensive jewelery or clothing that stands out. Don’t carry more money than you will need. Consider credit cards or travelers cheques.

9. Make sure you exchange money at authorized places. If you have any questions or get in trouble, contact the nearest embassy.

I’m sure if you are more organized before traveling, your holiday will go smoothly and everyone will have a great time.
