Kids Resources-Helping Kids Learn At Home

Posted By: Viviana on September 20, 2011 at 8:34 am

Kids learn by example.  They learn all our bad habits, bad words, and bad attitudes.  But just as much, they learn from the good things we do as well.  If parents spend their time on the computer playing online games or facebook, kids will follow their habits. When we want to instill reading habits in your kids, then we must set rules for family reading time.

Back to School – Goal Setting for Kids

Posted By: Viviana on September 9, 2011 at 3:19 am

Visit Goal Setting for Kids
Your kids can set goals for their school year. This is a great way to get them thinking about what they want to do for the year and find their focus. Going to school becomes such an everyday occurrence. Help your kids remember that the purpose of school is to learn. Goals can be set for any age group. Take a few minutes at the beginning of the school year to set some goals. Goal setting for kids can help them throughout school. Make the goals as simple or details as needed, depending on the age of your child. For young children, the goals can involve making new friends, behaving in school, and getting homework done on time. As they are getting older, they might want to set a goal to try a variety of activities or co curricular activities and not just pick their favorite subjects. Talk with your kids about what they like and where their strengths are. Help them consider the activity that they prefer. Whatever age your children are at, setting goals is a great way to begin the school year and get your kids focused. Follow through with them and watch them succeed.

Motivational quotes  and positive images are not only for adults. I looked around my kids’ school and there were plenty of  positive images and positive words are pasted on the walls to motivate kids and teachers.  Visualization has the power.  How people invent or create things is because of visualization.   Below are parenting tips given by Natalie Ledwell on how you can help your kids in visualization process:

Kids will love schooling if they find out that learning is fun. Homework & rote learning isn’t the solution to help kids master or learn the subject. In fact, kids will probably hate school if they have to learn this way.
