Do you think that every child has to learn music? I admit that I am an illiterate parent who loves listening to music but I don’t play any musical instruments. I love watching American Idol or GLEE and admire how wonderful the music is. My kids are learning music too and I still wonder how early childhood music can play a role in kids’ life. I view that many parents encourage their young children to learn music.

I have an opportunity to interview Deanna Ong from Atelier de Musique School in Penang. She has taken great efforts to answer my questions and presented me with more facts and information. I express my gratitude and I hope her answers will give a perspective for parents how important early childhood music education for young kids. Below is my email interview with her.

Privileged Kids Help Underprivileged Kids – Kids for Kids Charity Concert

Posted By: vie on May 3, 2010 at 1:41 am

Just a little reminder:

This Mother’s day treat the mom in your life with flowers.

How would we encourage kids to have compassion for the underprivileged kids? When kids have early exposure to charity work and get them involved at young age, their empathy will grow naturally.

It is Michelle Woo’s idea to expose students from her music center to give a public performance which carries a charity mission.  The charity concert is called “Kids for Kids Charity Concert” and this year,  the 4th concert is going to be grand because it will be held at Sunway University  Multi Purpose Hall on 23rd May 2010 at 2 pm.   You can visit  Kids for Kids Charity Concert Facebook Group for more details or you can contact Brian Lee or Michelle Woo for the tickets. The ticket is priced affordable at RM 20 each.  If kids have a big heart to spare their time and efforts for the charity concert , why not you?  Let’s support the charity concert for a good cause and enjoy a good performance. The sales of the tickets will go to New Life Care Center, a Private Independent Welfare Organization in Port Dickson.

Now, let’s get personal with Michelle Woo with her Kids for Kids Charity Concert.

Featured Mom: Dr. Selina Chew, Ph.D – Certified Hypnotherapist

Posted By: vie on April 11, 2010 at 6:48 pm

I decided to feature Dr. Selina Chew, Ph.D because she is a gifted  career mom of 2 young boys. She has developed a deep interest in mind-body therapies since she was young. She choose her career path as a certified hypnotherapist  because of her love for mind-body therapies.  When I asked her the reason she chose her career as a hypnotherapist.  She said,  “Well, I don’t think of it as a job. It’s more like a passion – a very fulfilling one, that is.”

Interview with Fida Abbott – Enthusiasm

Posted By: vie on April 11, 2010 at 5:47 pm

What factor plays an important role in your success to pursue your dream? A short answer: ENTHUSIASM.

“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

This quote captured my attention when I visited Fida’s blog. I have an opportunity to do an e-mail interview  with Fida Abbott, a published author in United State who wrote a novel book titled  ENTHUSIASM.  Let’s find out from the interview why she choose a career as  a published author,  how enthusiasm can play an important role in  her life, what readers can learn from her novel book and much more.
